90 Free Wheelchairs delivered in 1999. Goal for 2000 is 200 !

Danny of National Seating and Mobility: Our first wheelchair sponsor.

Danny's attention was first captured when he saw the pictures of the aid Cheer Up Missions brought down to Hondurs after Hurricane Mitch. "Do you personally deliver the aid yourselves?" he asked. When we answered affirmatively he asked us to come and see him at his office as he wanted to donate some wheelchairs. What a surprise awaited us as he and his assistant Jeff presented us with 8 excellent high tech wheelchairs for children with severe muscular problems. This was the beginning of our exciting involvement in delivering wheelchairs. Danny later introduced us to Jim of Home Care who likewise started donating wheelchairs for us to personally deliver to those in need. Together we were able to personally help 90 people experience greater freedom of movement through their new "Set of Wheels" in 1999.

Gloria pats Zapateli on the arm as jesture of gratitude for new wheelchair.

Before the clowns arrived at this Center for the Elderly which houses 60 residents in El Salvador, they had ZERO wheelchairs. Now they have 6 wheelchairs making it so much easier for the many residents who can't walk to get around. These senior citizens were so excited about the new wheelchairs that they wholeheartedly engaged in an action packed "Wheelchair race" that surprised everyone with the high speeds they could reach. After the race, 74 year old Gloria pats Zapateli the Clown's arm as a jesture of thankfulness while telling him that God had answered her prayers for a wheelchair!

Goal for the year 2000 is to deliver 200 wheelchairs to those in extreme need.

Though our goal of procuring and delivering 200 wheelchairs during the year 2000 is a bit ambitious, we are confident that together with your help it will be achieved. Already this year, through a very generous donation from Don Pullen, and the continued help of Danny and Jim, we have 100 wheelchairs ready to go. What we don't have is the funds for the shipping, handling and transportation necessary to personally deliver these wheelchairs where they are most needed. So, this is where your part comes in. Just click here to see how you, your company, social club or church can easily sponsor a wheelchair for someone who can't afford one. Thank you so much for your help!
