The Wall of Shame
This brick wall in front of the United Nations buildings in Zagreb, Croatia
was built as a protest by the grieving mothers of the dead. Each brick
represents a family member killed in the war and was meant as a plea for
the U.N. to please step in and stop the war before more people are killed.

The Mine Fields
During our travels in Bosnia we were cautioned time and again to
stay on the main roads and avoid all grassy areas as landmines had been
planted everywhere and were still killing people even though the war
was over.
